"HOT RODS FOR KIDS"
Building new hot rods are fun, but building one for a great cause is even better. That's what the folds at Deuce's Wild Rod Shop in Pennsylvania are doing. The professionals at Deuce's Wild Rod Shop got together and decided that a new 1932 Ford all steel roadster Hot Rod would be designed and built to raise money for the children at Victory Junction Gang Champ in Randleman, NC with the theme of "Hot Rods for Kids." The paint scheme and custom interior will feature the Victory Junction logo, and the car will be autographed by Kyle and Richard Petty who are instrumental with the success of Victory Junction Gang Camp. Deuce's Wild Rod Shop announced that it will be working with Good Guys of California, and the car will be on display at the Good Guys Hot Rod events in Columbus, Ohio and Charlotte, NC. View photos of this top quality interpretation of the modern Deuce.
"We wanted to do something special for this organization. We support all the efforts of the Victory Junction Gang Camp and we feel wonderful being able to help the needs of these special children," said William Sipko, owner of Dueces Wild Rod Shop.
Because this a fund raising project for a great charitable cause, some lucky person will own this one-of-a-kind hot rod "hi-boy" roadster. The car will be sold May 20th, 2010 at 8:10 PM, at the Dana Mecum's Original Spring Classic Auction in Indianapolis, IN and all proceeds of the sale will benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp.
Founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in honor of their late son Adam, Victory Junction is a year-round, multi-disease camp serving children from the Carolinas and Virginia. The camp provides sessions to children ages seven to fifteen with life-threatening illnesses. The Victory Junction Gang Camp has a racing theme that allows campers to begin their experience by entering the camp through a tunnel and crossing a starting line into the world of racing. Victory Junction's 75-acre site has more than 36 buildings, including a dining hall, gym, pool, theater, therapeutic equestrian center, arts and craft center, race shop, and 16 camper cabins. The Victory Junction Gang Camp, a Proud Charity of NASCAR, opened on June 20, 2004 and is free to children and their families. For more information, visit www.victoryjunction.org.
